NextUp Student Pitch Competition
The Mississippi Entrepreneurship Forum will present the NextUp Student Pitch Competition on April 13th, 2021. The competition will take place on the first day of the Mississippi Entrepreneurship Forum.
Don’t miss this opportunity to have your start-up company’s business pitch heard and critiqued by some of Mississippi’s top entrepreneurs and investors.
Who can participate?
The NextUp Student Pitch Competition is open to all students who attend a Mississippi college or university (must be enrolled during the current academic year). Institution may be public or private. Companies can be start-ups or existing companies.
Judging Criteria:
Limited spots are available. Applicants will be screened for the competition based on their application submitted via Survey Monkey. Judging at the April 13th event will be based on the team’s live Pitch deck presentation. The same criteria will be used to judge teams in each division.
Judges for the competition will include angel investors and select entrepreneurs.

How to enter:
To apply to enter the competition, complete an application by answering our online questionnaire. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in the competition where they will make an 8-10 minute live Pitch Deck presentation with 2-4 minutes of Q&A. The length of the presentations may be adjusted depending on the number of applicants. The deadline for applications is March 8, 2021.
Applicants will be notified by March 15th if they have been selected to present to the judges.
Prizes:
Cash prizes will be awarded and trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place in each category.
